Volunteering
We are proud to be a completely volunteer-run theatre, built by our community for our community. With around nine major productions each year, alongside performances from our Youth Theatre and our junior group, the Hoppers.
The Oast is a lively and welcoming place where we come together to create, learn and support one another – all while making truly memorable theatre!
Whether you have theatre experience or are interested in trying something new, there are many ways to get involved. Together, we bring productions to life through:
- set building and painting
- costumes and props
- front of house and refreshments
- poster and programme design
- stage management
- publicity and marketing
- sound and lighting
- acting and directing
We all give the time we can, learn from one another and enjoy being part of a friendly, supportive team. Many lifelong friendships have started here, and some of our founding members are still involved more than 50 years on.
Activities take place throughout the week and at weekends, in both daytime and evening sessions, so there are plenty of ways to get involved.
